2020. What. A. Year. Thanks to Covid, we’ve had 16 #vondyscouples reschedule their weddings (and counting) this year. We can’t imagine the disappointment of not being able to have your wedding as planned. What’s worse is the unpredictability and the unknown of wedding planning moving forward. Who would have ever thought this would be our reality? As hard as it is on couples right now, it’s been difficult for wedding vendors too! What was a jam packed year for us is now desolate. Although we’re doing a good job on our Netflix queue, we miss our couples, we miss hugging them, we miss celebrating with them! Each time we get another email or phone call about a change of plans our hearts break a little further. If you’re struggling with navigating your wedding plans, we think the most important thing you can keep in mind is that you have each other. You get to go through this together and when we finally make it on the other side, and we will eventually, you’ll be all that much stronger because of it.

Natalie and Jake have truly handled this situation with such grace. It’s remarkable to see their high spirits despite the devastating news that they can’t have the wedding of the dreams this year. We were SO looking forward to their Quail Ranch wedding this fall, but Covid has other plans. As if the whole wedding rescheduling situation wasn’t enough, we had to reschedule their Spring engagement session, too! However, when trying to look for positives, in a weird way, we’re a little bit happy it got delayed because it meant we got to include their new puppy, Daisy! Aside from being straight up adorable, Daisy is a 5 month old Shepadoodle, a sheepdog-poodle mix. She’s friendly and as sweet as she is precious.

We can’t get over how sweet these new dog-parents are together. Just being near Natalie and Jake, you can feel their warmth, sincerity and kindness. Something we can all use a little more of. Jake, being a firefighter, brought along his gear for some firefighter themed engagement photos - because you have to right?

After a year like this, we are so thankful there are wonderful couples like Natalie and Jake in the world. We feel truly lucky to have them as a part of our Vondys Family.

We are currently booking socially distanced engagement, couples and family sessions, as well as 2020 “petite” weddings! We are also accepting inquiries for 2021 weddings and events!
