When and How to Reschedule a Wedding

As Mr. Vondy and I worked at our dinning room table, drinking blackberry tea, listening to the rare Los Angeles rain, writing emails and a guide to help our couples navigate this tricky time, it occurred to me, what a historical period this will be to have lived through. That doesn’t make it easier in this moment, but it sometimes is is important to reflect on the good when there’s so much negativity surrounding us.

The coronavirus has put us all in an uncomfortable position, to say the least. It’s a lot to navigate. With new news and regulations being announced daily, it’s hard to know what to do when it comes to your wedding.

Not sure if it’s time to postpone your wedding? Maybe you’re already strongly considering rescheduling your wedding. Perhaps you’re in the middle of jumping through the hoops or just don’t know how to even start. Regardless of where you are, we are so, so sorry. We know you’ve spent so much time planning this milestone event, we can only imagine how devastating, frustrating and infuriating this is for you.

As a business who strive to help our couples have the most stress free and wonderful wedding day possible, this is hard to watch! After feeling a bit helpless, we realized there is something we can do! We’ve actually experienced weddings being postponed from fires and deaths in families, so we thought, let’s put that into a guide to help our couples! But we could do even better… we could share this guidance with so many more of you! So that’s what we’re doing.

Since we are getting new and up to date information everyday, we will be revising the guide and will notify you with changes as well!

WHEN TO RESCHEDULE?

updated in March 2020

Original March/April Dates

What To Do: Postpone :(

All of our March/April weddings have rescheduled their weddings. We are so sorry, we can only imagine how hard this is for you. To help, we suggest getting our Rescheduling Guide above to help you get through this as easily as possible. You’re day is going to be amazing whenever you decide to have it!

Original May Dates

What To Do: Postpone :(

If you’re late May, you can wait if you’d like, but most of our May dates have officially opted to reschedule their weddings. We know this is a tough decision, but after our couples made this decision they actually feel much more at peace now having a plan in place. Plus, if your wedding is mid-late May, with everything most likely closed until then, it will be so hard to get your suit rental or dress fittings. Get our tips in our Rescheduling Guide above to help! We promise you’re wedding day will still be amazing no matter what!

Original June Dates

What To Do: Monitor until April 1; Prepare with our pre-postponement tips in our guide to get ahead

As of now, as hard as it is, we’d advise you sit tight! We know it’s SO frustrating not having a plan, but unfortunately, no one has answers for at least a few more weeks. You can pre-plan for a potential reschedule with the tips in our Rescheduling Guide. We will also email you with up-to-date rescheduling news as we receive it!

Original July/August Dates

What To Do: Monitor until May 1; Prepare with our pre-postponement tips in our guide to get ahead

For now, all of our July/August weddings are “a go”! We’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed that these weddings won’t be disturbed and this whole Corona mess will be behind us. Original September Dates and On

What To Do: Proceed and monitor

Let’s sure hope that by the time fall comes, this whole Coronavirus will be a distant memory! We recommend keep moving forward with your wedding planning as best you can.

IMPORTANT! If you haven’t hired all of your wedding vendors yet, vendor’s fall schedules are filling faster than ever! We booked 2 fall 2020 weddings this week, so we highly recommend using this time to virtually meet with your vendors asap! We still have October wedding dates available and we’d love to chat with you if you’re in need of a photographer! Contact us to set up a free meeting!
