are you full time wedding photographers?

Yes we are! We both work full-time as wedding photographers so you can rest assured that we always have our clients and their weddings at the forefront of our minds.

will we get two photographers?

Yes! You get two for the price of one at The Vondys! We spend 95% of our time together, and are still in love with each other! Awww...

DO YOU DO DESTINATION WEDDINGS?

Absolutely! We accept weddings worldwide. Our motto is "have camera, will travel". We have photographed all over North America, including Hawaii, Mexico, New York City, New Orleans, Portland, Florida Keys, Charleston, St. Louis & beyond! HOW DO I RESERVE YOU FOR MY DATE?

All dates are reserved upon receiving a retainer & signed contract.

CAN I SEE A FULL EVENT FROM START TO FINISH?

Absolutely! In fact, we recommend even if you're not hiring us that you request to see at least one complete gallery from your photographer. It's easy to select 10 awesome photos from a wedding, but to consistently photograph from wedding to wedding is the sign of a true professional. We pride ourselves on the consistency of our work.

HOW DO I RESERVE YOU FOR MY DATE?

All dates are reserved upon receiving a retainer & signed contract.

DO YOU HAVE LIABILITY INSURANCE?

Yes! We and all of our camera gear are fully insured. Many venues require proof of insurance from vendors. We are able to supply this within 48 business hours.

DO YOU ACCEPT “SHOT LISTS”?

The only list we will ask you for is a family list. As your day approaches, we will send you a form to fill out with a list of your desired family portrait groupings. This will help to ensure an efficient family portrait session, so that you won't have to worry about forgetting anyone important that day.

Please trust that after nearly 300 weddings, we understand what to capture and don’t need a list to go off of! We find it stifles our creativity and ultimately leads to missing moments. Should you have an unusual request/non-traditional event happening at your wedding (e.g. you bought your new spouse a really special gift, you took dance lessons to surprise your family, etc.), we do want to know about this!

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

We photograph weddings on Canon 5D Mark III & IV bodies with mostly prime lenses. We do bring our own on & off camera lighting for reception photos. We also have a plethora of backup equipment with us at all times in case our gear malfunctions. In short, we come prepared for any "worst case" scenario!

do you shoot film?

No, although we do edit with a film-inspired style, and adore the art of film, we do our best not to follow trends. We don't know about you, but we're a little tired of hearing the phrase "fine art wedding photographer". We strive to create timeless images that will never be dated. Plus, if we shot film, we would have to charge you a lot more.

HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU SHOOT A YEAR?

We only accept 25-30 weddings a year so that we can give each of our clients the unique experience they deserve.

DO YOU DELIVER EVERY IMAGE YOU SHOOT?

No, we do not. We believe in quality over quantity, but that's not to say you won't receive all of the amazing images you deserve. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, images with unflattering expressions, and other pictures that may not fully enhance your wedding gallery. For example, we will take several images of each family grouping to ensure we have that perfect shot where everyone is looking and no one's eyes are closed. We don't expect you to spend hours agonizing over which images you think are best, that's why you're hiring professionals, we do the legwork for you!

DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS ON WEEKDAY, SUNDAY AND/OR OFF-SEASON WEDDINGS?

Being in sunny California, we shoot weddings year round, so there really isn't an off season. For non-Saturday weddings, our rates typically remain the same as all of our time & costs associated with the wedding remain the same.

CAN WE MEET YOU? DO YOU TRAVEL TO MEET CLIENTS?

We want to meet you, too! Contact us to set up a complimentary consultation. We find it's best to meet via Zoom, that way neither of us has to leave the comfort of our homes or deal with traffic.

HOW DO I GET MY WEDDING PUBLISHED ON OTHER WEDDING BLOGS OR MAGAZINES?

We are more than happy to assist in getting your wedding featured on your favorite blog or in your magazine! We are members of several blogs (Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, Ruffled, 100 Layer Cake, & more) and have contacts there to get you a leg up on your wedding being accepted.

WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME FOR OUR WEDDING PHOTOS?

We understand that you, your family, your friends & your social media acquaintances will be excited to see all the wedding photos as soon as possible. Our turnaround time between your wedding day and the time you receive your completed collection of wedding photos is approximately 10 weeks. Don't worry though! We'll have some sneak peeks and highlights of your big day, usually within a week or two (sometimes within 72 hours!), on our blog to help hold you over.

HOW MANY IMAGES DO WE GET?

Being that we believe in quality, memorable images over quantity, the collection of images you receive will be a selection of the very best photos from your wedding day. Since every wedding is different, we don't promise a number of images as we do not believe in "capping" ourselves. However, the average number of high-resolution, hand edited, watermark-free image files from an 8-hour day will be between 500-800 images on average. We 100% believe in telling the story of your day, so if 1,000 images is what it takes, then that's what you will receive.

HAVE YOU SHOT AT MY VENUE BEFORE?

Since we have photographed over 150 weddings, it's more than likely that we have. However, if we have not, we typically arrive early on your wedding day to perform a walk-through to scout the best photo locations. We often get asked about scouting a venue prior to the wedding day, which we have found isn't necessary. Often on the day of your wedding, there may be differences such as lighting conditions, venue layout, parking changes, etc. Being professional artists, we find it inspiring and refreshing to spontaneously discover a new space.

DO YOU PROVIDE VIDEOGRAPHY SERVICES?

No, we do not. We believe in focusing all of our attention on our photography and being the absolute best at our craft. However, we do offer our clients a vendor list which includes our absolute favorite videographers (some even offer our clients a perk to work with us!).
